Intercultural design

After deciding our research questions and ideas, the next step was research and data collection. We sent out a survey and conducted interviews.

Instructions:

Module Information Booklet

Data collection:

Our google form survey received 116 responses and we collectively interviewed 8 people. I interviewed my friend Emily Chan who is an 18 year old Malaysian and is interested in Japanese culture. We compiled all our results in slides and then recorded our presentation for the lecturers.

All our results and findings are summarised in these slides.

Feedback:

Miss Anis said our results were good and we should summarise them in our recording so it can fit into the time limit of 10 minutes.

Reflection:

This was definitely very interesting to see the perspectives of so many different people on this topic. It changed the way we perceive Japanese culture a bit as well because we became more aware of the underlying problems that thrive in silence. It feels good to raise awareness about this topic and make efforts to try and ease the suffering of the mentally ill by reducing the taboo and unjust stigma around mental health
